Onyxflame's Story.
What does Onyxflame do when I'm offline? These are stories about what my pretty shire does when I'm not playing. Some of my friends horses are going to be featured too <3
At the end of each part, I'll say which page the next part is on. At the start, I'll say where the previous one was.)

Part 3 of the whole story. (Part 2 is under Nightprince)
Onyxflame was perched up on a rock.
In fact, she was on her watching rock. Onyx stood up on that rock whenever she got tired of the other horses and just needed space to think. Sometimes, she listened and watched the other horses around the area, comparing them to herself. One detail that always caught her eye: the horses were hardly ever alone. They were always with someone. Whether it's their stablemates or their friends, the horses were barely ever alone. Then of course, there was the riders. But Onyx made sure she stayed out of their way. She couldn't go getting herself seen. Though of course, the riders had some sort of theory on the horses they do see, which is that some rider is still riding them while invisible. As if. Didn't it occur to the riders that the horses sneak out when they're gone?
But all these horses and riders had one thing in common; Onyx didn't know them. The horses she was watching right now are different. They were from her stable. Well, one of them was. The other horse, Onyx knew her as well. She was one of the horses who belonged to one of Elsa's friends. Smokesong and Wolfblood. And they were talking about her.
Onyx tipped her ears forward and narrowed her eyes. What were they saying about her?
"-Just don't worry for once! Be more like Onyxflame!" Onyx jerked back. Did she hear that correctly? Surely Wolfblood did not say what Onyx thought she did. She must've be missing something else from this conversation.
She was concentrating so hard on what Wolfblood just said that she almost missed Smokesong's reply.
"Onyxflame is a royal show-off."
Hurt filled up Onyx like water filling a bucket. They didn't understand her at all. Didn't understand that Onyx's light attitude and humour is just to cloak the problems inside her, and that she was going through more than they imagine.
Onyx missed Wolfblood's reply altogether this time, and she didn't care. She couldn't take anymore of this conversation.

Backing down the rock quietly, Onyx debated her next move. To Goldenhill valley, where she could hide in the fogginess of the forest? To the mountains, where she could get a view of so much? No, Onyxflame decided. She was going neither of those places. She was going to the place for true loners. She is going to the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur.

A little while later, Onyx was standing in the barren place of snow, staring up at the dinosaur. She loved that dinosaur, all alone there in the snow. There's something she found comforting about the dinosaur. Onyx had decided a long time ago that the dinosaur was probably a loner like herself, one who died quietly in the snow, staying frozen in place for future creatures to marvel over. But today, she almost despised the dinosaur. Why didn't it do something? Save itself? For all Onyx knew, it could've died of loneliness. Why couldn't Onyx bring herself to save herself? She'd probably die a sad death like the dinosaur.
Shaking her head, Onyx turned and ran as far away from the dinosaur as she can.
Eventually, Onyx found herself at a weird place. She was standing in front of a... cave? But Onyx hears the weirdest noises coming from the cave. Almost like a screaming...
Onyx gently stuck her head through the spikes and looks around. Nothing but shadows. Onyx nervously glanced around, but then stepped inside.
Inside the cave, it was very dark. There were shadows here and there, so Onyx is forced to go deeper into the cave. She stepped forward, hitting her hoof on something hard. Onyx lifted her hoof up, searching for the top of the thing. There. A step.
She stepped onto the step and advanced through some kind of tunnel. She had to dip her head to fit.
It was brighter on the other side. No sigh of the screamer was visible but--
Suddenly everything went dark. Hands grabbed at her and she screamed. She thrashed, but they tied her up. Then they left.
Hours passed, and Onyx stayed there, terrified. She was unable to sleep, even when the tiny piece of light she could see through the tunnel slowly disappeared. Onyx suddenly realised that she was never getting out of there.
The next day, they tortured her. Onyx didn't know what they did, but it made her hooves feel like they were on fire. She screamed and screamed and--
"Onyx!" Braverunner? No, no, he couldn't be here. She had to warn him.
"Brave run!"
The people torturing her left her alone, and she was terrified that they would go hunt Brave, that someone else would get hurt because of her.
A few minutes later, sounds came from the tunnel, and Brave and Prince stumbled into the light. They immediately started trying to free Onyx. She was about to tell them to leave, to save themselves, when Brave snarled at the ropes.
"I will rip my teeth out if that's what it takes to break the ropes."
"A bit intense." Prince remarked.
The rope around Onyx's face snaps, and she shuddered in relief. "Thank you Brave, Prince. I didn't expect... anyone to find me"
Brave tipped his head a little. "But you told me to run."
She did. "I'd do it again. Nobody else is getting caught because of me."
Prince grunted. "Nobody is getting caught. You're safe, Onyx." Was she? They weren't in the clear yet.
Apparently Brave thought the same thing. "Not yet."
Prince scowled at Brave. "Are you ever helpful?"
Brave looked at Prince smugly. "Hey I found her didn't I?"
Prince grudgingly accepted that. He ripped the rope tying Onyx to the wall, and Onyx thrust her hoof back, trying to break it. The rope makes a ripping but stays in one piece. Disappointment filled her.
Brave broke the rope on her front hooves, and Prince did something with his hoof to the ropes on her back hoof. The rope snapped.
"Come on!" He gasped.
The sound of footsteps echoes through the place suddenly, and they froze. One of her torturers spoke, asking who was there. When he saw Brave and Prince, he said "What's this? More prisoners? Tried to rescue your friend, did you?"
"Run!" Brave hollered. They did. They shoved through the corridor and over the icicles. On the way back, they saw Spell. Onyx wondered how many of them were sent to find her. When they reached the stables, Prince collapsed. Brave looked at him. "You're hurt?"
"Why Brave, you almost sound concerned."
Brave snorted. "I'd feel a bit bad if it's because I let you hit your hoof on the step." Onyx winced, remembering the step.
Prince shook his head "No, it wasn't from that. Broke the rope with my hoof. Hurt a lot. But it's no ripping your teeth out."
Brave smirked a little in reply.
Spell dipped her head to look at Prince's leg. "I've hurt my leg on rope before. It'll heal, Prince. But what happened out there?
Onyxflame took a deep breath. She turned and looked at the others and then said, "I can tell you."
"Go on?" Brave said.
And she told the story.
"The witch cave." Prince murmured after the story.
"Told you so." replied Brave.
"So what now?" Hunter asked. He had been the only one back when they got back, and came over to them when Onyx started the story.
"Tell the others first. Then? Stay away from Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur, most likely." Prince replied.
"Not good enough, Tubbyprince." snapped Brave. Prince huffed slightly, looking put off.
"Well what do you propose then, genius?"
"Doing something! What if Smoke actually saw something at the castle, Prince? You three—" he jerked his nose in the direction of Prince, Hunter and Spell, "—You were awfully quick to assume she was just being stupid. What if she actually—"
"Brave, seriously? How would we know? Anything could be a ghost with Smoke."
Onyx spoke up. "Wolfblood was with her."
Prince blinked. "Wolf?"
Brave smirked. "And there you go. Just ask Wolfblood and we're good to go."
"Well we can't all go." Spell reasoned.
"I'll go." said Brave.
Prince looked put off. "What? No! I'll go."
"Yeah well, bit-brain, I said first so suck it."
Prince looked annoyed and also insulted, but didn't argue again. "Fine. Go on, then. If you want to take action so much, you wont mind going right now."
"I don't mind going right now, you're correct."
"Then go!" snapped Prince.
Brave did, turning and darting off. Onyx turned to Prince.
"Did he call you Tubbyprince?"
He sighed. "That he did."
